Scientific Publications Highlight the Impact of iLearn4Health

The iLearn4Health project continues to contribute to the scientific community, with two new research papers authored by Professor Apostolos Vantarakis and his team presented at the 17th Annual International Conference of Education, Research and Innovation (ICERI2024) in Seville, Spain. These studies further showcase the project’s role in advancing health education through gamification and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) strategies.
The first study, “Enhancing Nutritional and Physical Activity Behaviors in Educational Environments Through Gamification and CBT Strategies,” explores how gamification elements—such as points, levels, and rewards—can motivate students to adopt healthier habits. A systematic review of 35 peer-reviewed studies found that students participating in gamified programs showed a 25% increase in physical activity and a 20% improvement in nutritional choices, while also benefiting from reduced anxiety and stress.
The second study, “Gamified Digital Interventions for Adolescents: Enhancing Sexual Education, Gender Awareness, and Interpersonal Skills Through Cognitive Behavioral Strategies,” evaluates the use of gamified digital tools in sexual education and gender awareness. Reviewing 42 research papers, the study highlights how digital platforms can improve communication skills, promote gender equality, and support emotional regulation. Findings confirm that gamification makes learning more engaging and effective in addressing sensitive educational topics.
These publications reinforce iLearn4Health’s commitment to evidence-based innovation in health education, offering valuable insights for educators and researchers.
