Pilot Implementation of the Ilearn4Health Project at Centro San Viator

Centro San Viator in Sopuerta has successfully carried out the pilot implementation of the Ilearn4Health project. Both teachers and students participated in this experience, testing the different tools developed within the framework of the project.
Teacher Training
The teachers completed an online training course focused on health education and promotion for children aged 6 to 12. Through this training, they gained knowledge about public health, the importance of teaching health education from an early age, and how to adapt these topics to children’s developmental stages. Additionally, they were trained in the use of Digital Game-Based Learning (DGBL) to integrate it into their teaching methodologies. A key aspect of this program is that it is freely accessible and does not require an external trainer, making its implementation easier in various educational contexts.
Piloting of the Games with Students
Students aged 8 to 12 had the opportunity to try out the games designed within the project, which address key topics related to their well-being and development, such as:
- Healthy eating habits
- Being active and promoting physical exercise
- Stereotypes and their impact on health
- Accident prevention
- Internet addiction
- Sexual health
The students’ response was very positive. From the very beginning, they showed great enthusiasm and motivation to engage with the games, demonstrating the appeal and effectiveness of such tools in health education. Through this playful experience, students not only learned about these topics dynamically but also reflected on the importance of taking care of their well-being.
The pilot implementation of the Ilearn4Health project at Centro San Viator has been a success, highlighting the potential of online teacher training and digital games in children’s health education. The combination of these two elements has enabled both teachers and students to actively participate in the learning process, ensuring a better understanding and application of the knowledge acquired. With this initiative, the center reinforces its commitment to educational innovation and the promotion of healthy habits in future generations.
