Introduction
The method of education through digital educational games in the field of health promotion and health education is a continuously evolving process, with ongoing innovations aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of educational programs.
This online training program focuses on training teachers of students aged 6 to 12:
- in the concept of using digital educational games for teaching within the classroom,
- on topics related to health promotion.
The use of digital educational games as a teaching method offers a comprehensive approach to educating children aged 6-12 on health practices, preventive measures, and wellness strategies. This program will present the key elements, benefits, and challenges of digital education and the use of digital educational games by teachers within classrooms.
The main topics covered in this training program include informing and strengthening teachers’ knowledge on teaching students (through digital educational games) about:
- diet,
- active living,
- accident prevention,
- stereotypes,
- internet addiction,
- sexual health education and peer relationships.
The training material was developed by the Laboratory of Hygiene, Department of Medicine, University of Patras in collaboration with experienced professionals and experts. It has been officially approved by the Lifelong Learning Center of the University of Patras.

Learning Outcomes
Teachers will:
- Understand the benefits of using digital educational games for health promotion in schools.
- Learn to identify appropriate tools for teaching specific health promotion topics through digital educational games.
- Be able to design and integrate activities for teaching health promotion topics through digital educational games.
- Acquire skills to assess student learning through the method of education using digital educational games.
Certificate of Participation
To obtain a Certificate of Participation, participants in the online training program must successfully complete all 9 modules and achieve a minimum score of 80% on the quizzes for each module. Additionally, participants are required to complete the evaluation questionnaires included in Module 10, which will assess their overall experience and the program’s effectiveness.
Duration
The online training program will be available for registration from 20.12.2024 to 07.02.2025. The modules will unlock progressively as each previous module is completed. Module 10 will be accessible from 03.02.2025 to 14.02.2025.
Teachers will have access to the training materials until 14.02.2025. After this date, access will no longer be available.
